...woohoo! I got an award. It is the Premium Meme 2009 Award! I received this award from A Day in the Hay. So thank you thank you thank you!
"To accept this award, the recipient must list 7 traits about themselves and then pass the award onto 7 other bloggers who deserve recognition for the personality they share through their blog."
1. Organized yet messy- I am the most organized person. I love to plan...sometimes months in advance but if you look at my desk at work=its a disaster! While some people might not thing I'm organized at first site, I can still find anything I need. During my wedding shower, they asked Matt questions and I had to give the answer. One was, what is the one trait you really like about Alyssa? His answer: my organizational skills!
2. Fair- I believe strongly in always being fair. I'm the type of supervisor that gives credit when credit is due. For example, I can think of a couple of times that someone suggested an idea to me then I in turn suggested it in a management meeting. Everyone then thought it was a great idea and right away I say whoever thought it up.
3. Nervous Nellie- I am constantly nervous all the time about anything and everything. It's craziness!?!
4. Prompt- This might go along with organized but I'm the type of person that gets a wedding invitation in the mail and sends back the RSVP card the same day.
5. Turning into an introvert- Those of you that have known me forever may be saying WHAT!?! But it's true, I no longer am the center of attention at get-togethers, I like to sit back and take in what everyone else is saying. I rarely talk to random people I don't know. I guess I'm just growing up...who knows?
6. Family person- Family always comes first with me.
7. Creative- Most of the time, I'm pretty creative. However, I'm at a point in my life that when I go to paint-your-own pottery stores (which I LOVE), I have to ask myself where am I, or whoever I'm making this for, going to put this. I've turned into a practical person lately-so there's two traits for one!

The Credit Card Drama...
...never ends. So, thinking everything is okay with this stupid credit card, I log on this morning and see a charge to Stone’s Gas Station for $99.92. I call BOA and after being transferred three times then hung up on, calling back and being transferred again, I have to wait for paperwork, which will take 7-10 days…, business days, to make a claim even though THEY caught it and THEY told me they stopped it and then it still showed up. So here goes the fun fun fun of not having to pay for someone else’s gas. I love BOA! Not to mention they asked me like 5 times for my credit card number in which I replied, "I don't know my credit card number. You cancelled my card and told me this charge would not go through. I haven't received the new card that you've said you sent." Grrr....here starts the headache.
Plus I think the credit card thief stole 4 Pyrex dishes from me house!!! Come on people...give me a break!!!

Yum, yum!!!
...now here's the post I've been slacking on! I haven't mentioned that our tomato plants are doing GREAT! We have lots of green ones and we've had about 6 turn red. Matt is loving it because I'm putting them in his lunch and making salsa. I've been using the Magic Bullet to make salsa and wowser! I put ONE jalapeno in from our garden and it is HOT HOT HOT!!! Here is some jalapenos, tomatoes and the heart rock I found the other day.

I made some blackberry cobbler. It was super easy and here's the final result.

Matt thought it was delish!

The Farm...
...so last night after Matt got off, we drove out to the farm to pick up a fridge (long story I won't get into). It was nice and cool and the dogs had a blast. We sat by the pond and watched the two of them (Emma and Shadow not Matt and I) chase each other going 90 miles an hour then jump in the pond to cool off and get a drink. Then we walked down to our deer stand and saw deer tracks so that's a good sign for us come November. I think we probably walked at least 3 miles. We were ALL exhausted by the time we got back to the farm house. Along the walk, we saw that the blackberries were turning so we ate a couple off the bush and decided we'd pick some and I'd attempt to make a blackberry pie or cobbler or something with blackberries later this week (I'll post about it). So Matt starts to wheel out the fridge and I start to pick blackberries. Not realizing they have thorns I go to town starting from the bottom and working my way up. All was fine until it trapped me! I was yelling "OWWW!" when Matt came over and asked what was wrong. I pointed to my ear where he saw two thorns sticking out! So whoever eats this blackberry thing that I make better really enjoy it because I took PAIN for these blackberries!!! We headed home and stopped at a restaurant called Backroads Pizzeria and Grill. It was delicious and the best part-I have leftovers for lunch today!!! YUM!!! When we got home, everyone passed out because we were all exhausted!!! Work today and tomorrow then the fair is all next week and Matt will be done with his online class after his final on Monday night-THANK GOODNESS!!! He's taking Intermediate Algebra this fall so Angie I might be asking you for help!!!

Friday Update...
...this has been a fairly uneventful week until today. So yesterday, I start to leave work and my boss asks if I'm at 40 yet. I let her know I'm over and she asks if I'm coming in on Friday and before I answer, she's like, no, don't come in. You'll be here all weekend, take the day off and you're not allowed to check your email. Sweet!
I head home to meet up with my mom who took me to get new tennis shoes (post on that later) and grocery shopping including Rocky Road Ice Cream-YUM!!! Then we went to Matt's nursery to show my mom where he worked at and I found a heart shaped rock! I showed it to Matt and he told me to keep it in my pocket for when I worry (wish is all the time) and think about how much he loves me...everyone together now-Awwww!!!
So I'm all set for sleeping in on Friday when my phone rings at 7:30 AM and its my credit card company letting me know that they suspect fraud...great! Just what I want to deal with at 7:30 on my day off! Sure enough, someone tried to use it at a gas station in Florida!!! I wish I was in Florida...Randall, are you using my credit card? Anyways, they shut it down and I'm credit card-less until I get a new card sometime next week. What I don't understand though is I know I've taken road trips and used it along the way but this is the first time I've ever been called. Also, don't you have to swipe your credit card at gas stations? Now I'm all paranoid and freaking out!!! I'm going to go take Shadow for a walk now and we might go to the movie in the park tonight (its Jaws!!!) but other than that no much else is planned for today. Everyone have a great weekend!

Busy Sunday...
...so Matt had to work today and I got busy trying to get out of that funk of mine! I woke up and took Shadow on a 2.5 mile walk-thank goodness for the cool weather! Then I did a little laundry and started a roast in the crockpot...mmm, meat and potatoes for dinner! Then to be even, I took Emma on a car ride with me to Wag's where we scored a couple of good deals with coupons!
This afternoon, I made some banana bread because Matt couldn't eat them fast enough. I swear this bunch went straight from green to brown! Then I finished the book I was reading, "The Choice" by Nicholas Sparks.

I never read "The Notebook" but my mom brought me a lot more of his books to read. Anyways, it's a super easy read and totally gives you the warm fuzzies inside how the couple falls in love (don't worry, I'm not ruining anything, I mean hello! It's Nicholas Sparks here!). The basis of the book is his wife ends up in a coma and he has to decide whether or not to let her live or to take out the feeding tube...similiar to the Terri Schiavo case. I'm really torn about the decision he made and the one part of the book that I'm still in suspense is that the never really discuss his choice (sorry to be vague but I'm trying not to give it away). I know that if I was in a coma, and I've told Matt many a time, to NOT let me live that way because its no life for me and its not fair to him. Any thoughts from anyone? If you're read the book, let me know so we can discuss w/o ruining it for anyone else.
OH! Side note...I'm definately a 'read the last page first' kinda girl...I feel like I'm out of the loop!!! Hope everyone had a good weekend!
