My Christmas Present...

...my loving husband got me a DSLR for Christmas!!! Woohoo!!! We got a free class with the purchase of the camera so for now, I'm fumbling my way along and then both of us are going to the class towards the end of January. I already have a sitter lined up so consider it a date-lol! I've just been using Picasa to edit but the camera came with a photo editing CD that I haven't opened yet. I have a feeling my FB friends are going to be annoyed because I'll be posting even MORE pics now.

Question to all you out there, where is a good online storage to use? I have a Wags account where I print out my pics every month, I use Flickr for the blog but I want some place that I can store the photos and then use them on another computer. I know I'm going to be taking a ton of pictures and don't want to be sending multiple emails to family...any ideas???

Here are some pics I've taken so far. This is just 4 of the 44 I've already. I've actually taken way more than 44 but I've just paired it back down to that.

Here's AR staring out the window. It's the next best thing for her since we aren't going outside as much due to the nip in the air. I swear the cold does not bother her. She'll stand and pat the window for a long time and her hands will be freezing but she doesn't seem to care.

The Shad Dog...must remind myself that this new camera picks up everything-including all that dust on the tv and shelves!

I wish I'd had this while I was on maternity leave but then again, I imagine I would have probably had like a million pictures! I'm super pumped because now I can do my own photoshoots with her. Matt even got me a tripod so I could do family pics of us. I'm also up for trading photo shoots with any of your bloggers that need/want family pics taken!

I use Shutterfly and Dropbox and like both really well.

Yay for a dslr!! I use Flickr for everything and love it. You can access it from anywhere and can make it as private or public as you wish. Others can even download or print your pics if you allow that option.

I use Shutterfly & have been for YEARS. They never delete your pics (even if you NEVER order from them).

Now the next topper you need for the camera is a good memory stick. I'm talking, Extreme Pro 90MB/s. You would be amazed the "moving" shots you can get with it! Enjoy your camera :) I post a ton of pics but take a ZILLION more than I actually post. You can post all you want & however doesn't want to look doesn't have to (my philosophy). You enjoy these pictures & captured moments with your precious baby. These times won't last!

Look at those great pics. Your little one will have you dragging her around in the snow in a year or two for sure--my crew is making me work way to hard dragging their sleds around.

Well, Merry belated Christmas to you and the family and I hope you have a Happy New Year.

LOVE LOVE my DSLR. I would totally look into taking a "continuing education" class at the community college if you can. It helped me SOO much.

As for storage, I used to use Kodak, but switched to Shutterfly. I love their service and ordering from them is a breeze. They also offer a free "website" to share the pictures. It's really nice. My whole family is on it now and it is super convenient.

As for taking pictures, I swear my Raegan folder got too big after 3000 pics so I've had to make new ones. And those are just of her. Not even including all the other stuff I take pictures of. But I took tons of pics before Raegan was here too LOL

Enjoy it....best purchase ever!!!

I got my DSLR when I was pregnant because I knew I'd become the "mamarazzi" once the baby was born. I still don't know how to use it, even after taking a class, but I'm getting better. I have a couple THOUSAND pics already of baby D, but that's because I'm too lazy to delete the images that aren't perfect. One day I'll sit down and got through them all, probably when I'm ready to make a book or something for his first bday.
