Wow! We're really bad...

...last night, we went to a Relay for Life Trivia Night. My goal at Trivia Nights are just to not come in last and we totally did! What a disappoint! It was still fun though although they didn't have a microphone so the MC kept yelling at everyone like a teacher and I thought we were in trouble. Everyone who won the 50/50, Heads/Tails and the actual trivia donated it back since they team that put it on is trying to raise $15,000 for the event! Last night, they raised almost $2,000! Great job guys!

Matt won an attendance prize...a snowball maker! He's pretty excited about it, I heard ALL about it during trivia, after trivia and on the ride home. Now we just have to wait for snow.

They did Heads/Tails and I didn't want to play but the MC totally made me. Due to a last minute, split decision to change from tails to heads, I ended up getting third place! I was pretty upset for the next round that I didn't win.

Of course there was a silent auction...I was watching one item and made Matt bid on it with 10 seconds left! I got a free color and cut (from the girl that usually does my hair), a purse and a bottle of lotion and bubble bath! Matt bought it for me and here he is modeling it. Isn't he a great model?

The last Trivia Night we went to, Jenni made Chicken Enchilada Dip and it was yummy! So I made it this time, it's so easy and it was gone in like 10 minutes! Here's the recipe:

Chicken Enchilda Dip
8 oz mayo
8 oz shredded cheese
8 oz cream cheese
1 can Rotel drained
1 can cooked chicken drain

Mix and put in casserole dish. Bake for 15 minutes, stir, bake another 15 minutes and then serve with tortilla chips. YUM!!!

This next week is going to be CRAZY!!! So I apologize if I'm not blogging or commenting this week! Everyone enjoy June-where has the year gone???

Demo Part II...

...so we've starting demo-ing the second bathroom. Boy is it a mess!!! We have little pieces of tile and wallpaper all over the house! Matt started ripping out the tub only to find that all the wall was wet and dry rot so we had to rip those out. There's a before pic of the awful wallpaper and then there's an after pic after I, yes me...all by myself!!!, de-wallpapered it all day today! You can see in the after pic that they even wallpaper the fake drawer on the vanity! I can't wait for this one to be done so I can take a bath again!

Now I'm off to make Chicken Enchilada Dip and Oreo Truffles for Trivia Night...much more fun than de-wallpapering!

OH! Side note: At Schnucks, I got 15 32-oz Powerades for $7!?! They were on sale for 5/$4 and then they had a coupon THERE for buy 15 get $5. I might be going back tomorrow because Matt drinks those like crazy especially now that its warming up. That makes them less 50 cents each!!!

Quack, Quack...

...what is the deal with all the strange animal sitings lately? Remember our neighbor's yard that hadn't been mowed in over a year and it was a jungle? Well, first off, the City finally came and cut the grass. Rumor has it that if the City does that, they will charge you anywhere from $250-$500!?! Do you know how many times you could have your mowed for the price of one??? A LOT!

Anyways, so Matt comes home from work today and he runs in the house yelling at me to get the camera! We run over to their yard and here's what we saw:

Two ducks in their front yard!?! We don't live close to a pond or lake so it is a very odd siting!!! Matt said one was a mallard and the other was a hen. So I guess we got new neighbors...with feathers?!

Polly, Drive the Car???

...tonight while we had training at work, we all looked over at this van and noticed a bird on the steering wheel!?! We debated whether it was real or not but when we saw it move, we all agreed it was real!!!

Not sure if the same rules apply to birds as dogs and children and not leaving them unattended in vehicles...hmmmm....

Work work work...

...all day long! That's how we spent our Memorial Day but it was fun! We headed over to our friend, Dani's, house and helped her out in the yard. I just wish it hadn't been so cool and overcast so I could have gotten some good sun!!! She wanted to mulch the yard for her mom for Mother's Day so Matt, me and another friend, Jeff all helped out and she "paid" us with a yummy delicious dinner of porksteaks! We mulched and cut tree limbs and by the end of the day I was exhausted. I have mosquito bites EVERYWHERE including the bottom of my foot and its driving me CRAZY!!!

Here is a picture of Jeff pulling the 4-wheeler and Dani standing in front of like 1 load of limbs out of like 4. Keep me in mind that Dani is easily 6 ft.

Of course, we took Emma and Shadow. Emma did a pretty good job staying close by but not Shadow so we had to tie him up close by throughout the day. One time he disappeared and I found him inside this pine tree!!! He's so silly!!!

Three day weekends are always so nice then its back to work!!!

Go Cards!!!

...so Saturday, I went to the first Cards game in like a year or something. It was so much fun! A bunch of my friends came and we tailgated and even my dad the Butcher came! He had a good time.

Here's a pic of the two most important men in my life: my dad and my husband (hopefully you can figure out whose who).

During the game, some guy in the stands asked his girlfriend to marry him! She said yes...whew! We heard the Real Men of Genius song on the way home about Mr. Ask Her to Marry You on the Scoreboard...we were crackin' up.

Then where Albert hit his homerun and knocked out the I the other day, they had a sign that said, "Ouch! My I!"

It was a noon game and a lot of fun even though I was in bed asleep by 7. Go Cards!!!

Vicki's Secret...

...so I hit up Victoria's Secret yesterday and I found out the secret! They think everyone is an XS!!! Not in my world! They had the big 10 for $25 sale so I, along with about 3 other women, are searching through all the tables of XS underware in hopes of finding a realistic size. Then there's this older couple...now, first, whenever Matt goes into VS with me, which is rare, he stays right by my side and we WHISPER back and forth to each other. Back to this couple, he says in an abnormally loud voice, "Here's another table of panties to look though." (I hate the word panties!). She responds, two tables over, "No...those are thongs and I don't wear thongs!" AWKWARD!!!

So I go to check out and I'm all about giving the person in front of me room and not invading their bubble so I'm a few feet back then what happens? This old couple jumps in line right in front of me!?! The slowest cashier in the history of cashiers was working and the whole time I'm looking at my watch because I have a lunch date at 11:30 and its like 11:18! Of course, HIS Angel card doesn't work so they call over two other employees as the line is creeping longer and longer and my lunch date time is closer and closer. FINALLY, the one girl asks if I'm ready to check out so I go to the register. Here's our conversation:

Cashier: "Did you find everything okay?"
Me: "Not really...not everyone is a size XS."
Cashier: "OH sorry about that, this is our biggest sale and our stock is low."
Me: "Really? Didn't the sale start yesterday?"
Cashier: "Yeah....uh...it just flew off the shelves."

Riiiight, I'm so sure that everyone in St. Charles County just flew to VS on a Thursday to buy their 10 pairs of underware. So anyways, I got my 10 pairs, a couple of the same print and a pair that say Newlywed...I guess that works since it's still less than a year, right? So good luck to any of you heading out there for the sale...may you survive the XS.

Bargain Hunter...

...I think I may finally be getting the hang of this coupon thing! Here are a couple of trips I've made lately:

Schnucks-61 cents for a tube of Colgate!!!

Wal-Greens-2 packages of Ballpark hot dogs and 2 boxes of Kraft mac-n-cheese $3.83!!! This was also Matt's dinner for last night, tonight and tomorrow night because I'll be working

Wal-Mart-1 package of Energizer batteries, Kraft Mayo and Daisy Sour Cream-$6.60!!!

So I feel like I'm learning to use coupons...correctly and on actually stuff I use. I've been comparing if the name-brand is cheaper after the coupon than store brand and 9/10 it is!!!

Sorry I don't have much else to post about. I've been busy at work getting ready for the summer, Matt busted my laptop and I'm trying to get it worked out and I'm de-wallpapering our hall bathroom in preparation of the remodeling. Hope everyone has a great weekend (I know I'm a day early but I'm ready for the weekend!!!)

The Garden...good and bad...

...Update on our Garden...there's good news and then there's not so good news. The good news is so far we've enjoyed two salads and a bite of broccoli from the garden. The bite leads to the bad news. Turns out we don't really get enough sunlight in our backyard due to all the trees that AREN'T on our property so probably not much else is going to turn out. I can't even tell you how bummed I am. We might have a couple of things here and there but I was told to not get my hopes up. I asked Matt if there was anything we could do like artificial light and he looked at me like I was crazy so I guess we'll be hanging out at the farmer's market this summere.

Here is a picture of Matt tasting the lettace before cutting us some for our salads. The salads were delicious!!!

She's All Grown Up...

...Sunday, my step-sister graduated from high school. When her mom and my dad started dating, she wasn't even in kindergarten yet! I can't believe she's old enough to be graduating from high school! I wrote in her card that I still remembered the frantic phone call from Sally to my dad the night before Brooke started first grade. She was in a panic because Brooke had cut her own bangs!!! Now Brooke is Miss Stylish!!!

Here is a picture of Brooke and Sally.

Little Miss Hay Hay decided she was going to be America's Next Top Model and had a little photo shoot outside in the garden. This is only one of like twenty pictures we took of her.

Then here is my grandma, me, Haley and my sister...four generations!!!

Good luck Brooker and congrats!!!

Wild Weekend...

...Saturday night, we went to a wedding at the zoo!!! We were a little nervous because we really only knew the bride and one other couple, who had called to tell me they wouldn't be attending at the last minute. I was bummed about that and bummed that I couldn't wear my new dress I'd bought last weekend. Well...I could but I would have FROZE!!! So we get there and it was the most awesome time EVER!!! The couple wrote their own vows and the groom's brother did the ceremony. We found out that the groom had donated his kidney to his father! I guess that's one of those things that doesn't come in casual conversation! It just made us realize that this couple really is amazing (but we already knew that). A peacock walked down the stairs where the bridal party was coming from before the wedding then a goose during the wedding. In the middle of the wedding, two geese flew maybe 5 ft about everyone's head. It was hilarious!

In between the ceremony and the reception, we were walking around and got to see the seals! I've never been to a wedding with seals! They were cold and all laying on the rocks in the middle...no getting in the water for them!

When we got to the reception, we were seated the Jaguar Table with the most fun people!!! We exchanged numbers with them to possible hook up with at the State Fair! Back while we were planning our wedding, I was reading an etiquette book. It stated that the appropriate time to leave a wedding was after the cake had been cut. This is the second weekend in a row that the couple has been introduced into the reception and cut the cake immediately before dinner. When they did it last night, I looked at Matt and said, "Alright, we can go!" We laughed but ended up staying almost the entire time! When we left, the party favor were little bags of animal crackers with their name and a thanks for coming. Overall, it was an awesome time! Good luck to J & C and have fun on your honeymoon!

The seals napping and trying to stay warm.

Here are our new friends at the Jaguar table displaying the tower of champagne glasses we made and trying to turn it into a fountain.

Lastly, Matt displaying the Jaguars!!!

Perfect Strangers...

...last night, we had the first ever St. Louis Bloggers Outing! Sorry ladies, I slept in a bit so I'm just now posting! It was so much fun! We were all like Perfect Strangers because we'd never met in person but we all knew so much about each other through our blogs (and not in a creepy way)! Being that I'm not originally from STL, I don't have a lot of close girlfriends around so it was nice to have a girls night.

Here's the gang, Heidi, Ashley, Randall, myself and Angie.

I was the first to arrive and I was looking for Randall. Now in my head, I was looking for the same outfit that was posted on her blog!?! She was not wearing that dress, of course, but I still recognized her and loved her Old Navy shirt. Randall told us all about her trip to Vegas and what brought her and her hub to STL. So glad she's here!

Then Ashley arrived and told us about her husband shoving soup in her face to try and missing before she got here. She had lots of good baseball stories...hope she has fun at the game today!

Then Heidi showed up looking so cute because she broke out the skirt for the nice weather. I loved how during conversations, she'd bring up a topic and say, "Another post coming soon..."

Then Angie arrived and I told her she was my "safety." We'd all discussed how our hubs were all worried about us meeting strangers from the Internet but I knew that Angie had met Kristal, who is my long time BFF from middle school, so I knew I was okay.

I've noticed this about myself for the past couple of years...if you knew me back in high school or college, I was Miss Personality, always so outgoing and bubbly. Then, like a couple of years ago, I really mellowed out and have turned into the wallflower, observer, quiet girl. So weird!!!

I had a fabulous time and can't wait until the next outing! I think Matt was a little bummed that I got home so late. He did a great job cleaning the house though and I made him breakfast in bed to make up for it. Hope you ladies have a great rest of the weekend and I can't wait to keep reading your blogs!!!

Back to the Wedding...

...okay, so here are the pics from the wedding I couldn't post on Sunday because my computer wouldn't flip them.

This was right next to the guestbook. What a crazy topper!!! When we did get cake, they had already taken away all of our silverware and the served us the cake so all the couples had to share forks or a soup spoon for Matt and I and some of the girls just ate it with their hands! Oh well...it was still delicious whether eating it with a fork, spoon or your fingers!

Here's a pic of Mattie and I in front of the Arch. I think this is by far one of the coolest pics of us together.

Another wedding on Saturday and this time its at the zoo!!!

It's a Jungle Out There...

...so there is this abandoned house caddy corner from us. No one lives there but they have stuff in the house, on the driveway, in the backyard so we don't really know what's going on with it. Back in the fall, some kids (we assume) set off a sparkler bomb on the front porch which led to the police knocking on EVERYONE'S door at 11pm on a Tuesday night. Anyways, so since it's abandoned, obviously no one mows the grass! Last year, the city ended up mowing it but they haven't got around to it yet. So here is a picture of Emma and I standing in their yard so you can see how tall it really is. This picture doesn't actually do justice to how tall it is but keep in mind, you can't see my feet in this picture. Sorry I'm squinting I was looking directly into the sun.

Then here's a picture of the construction place behind our house with a tipped over Port-a-Potty! Hope no one was in it!

The Most Dreaded Day of the Year...

...happened last Tuesday. It was the annual trip to the "girl doctor." Maybe this is a little more than you want to know BUT I still wanted to share and get some opinions. I had a very traumatic experience the first time I went as an adult and I think it has caused this forever fear! I always try to tell myself, it's no big deal Alyssa, its less than an hour, don't worry about it and I tend to calm down. Then she came out and called my name and I could feel my pulse start racing!!! I always apologize with, "It's nothing personal but I really hate doing this!"

Anyways, so skip over all the heeby jeeby part...as the dreadful moment ended, she asked when do you plan on having kids? I answer and ask her if there's anything that we should do when that time arrives (no, I won't be telling anyone when...). She tells me the usual and then says I should look into getting a Cystic Fibrois test. It takes both parents to be carriers in order to carry on that disease. She said if I got tested and was positive, then Matt would get tested and then basically we'd just have to sit down and weigh out the options and percentages and all that.

So I get to thinking about it then Matt and I discuss it that night. I don't really think I want us to get tested because we want to have kids. Of course, we hope that we have healthy children but even if they aren't, we'll still love them and take care of them. Matt and I both had some unusual health issues as children so I think we're prepared with what we would have to do if something were to happen (well, as prepared as you can be w/o being in that position). Plus, like I told Matt, that's just one disease in a world of so many out there. For instance, a girl that I work with every summer has Rhett's Disease which is something you don't find out until the child is around 2 so even though we could both NOT be carriers for CF, what's not to say that our child wouldn't have Rhett's and even if we ARE carriers that just means we COULD pass it on not that we necessarily would. So basically the nurse practioner was telling me, we would just have to sit down and decide whether or not we wanted to take the risks. So what do you all think? Do you think that's selfish of us not to test and just take the risk? Do you think our reasoning makes sense that we want to have children no matter what? Let me know what you think, just please be nice!

And so my world of worrying about my children (even unborn) begins and so does the countdown to next year's dreadful day...

Mama Day...

...I hope you all had a great Mother's Day!!! Matt and I both had to work so we ended up taking his mom out to dinner Sunday night. I always send a corsage to school on Friday for my mom so she can wear it Friday and then to church on Saturday. She loves it and it's a no-brainer gift! I got off work early on Sunday so I walk in and see Matt sitting at the table, "Hey pretty" I say and he jumps up..."You aren't supposed to be home for an hour! Get out of here!!! Come back in 5 minutes!!!" So I laugh and head back out to my car and call my dad to tell him I didn't think that Amaretto Sours were alcoholic then Matt comes to tell me I can come in. Here's what I saw...

These were the flowers from our wedding!!! (Not the exact ones but the same kind) He also gave me a card that kind of summed up the first 7 months of our marriage (wow-time flies!!!) and he even went grocery shopping for me!!! I hope you all had a great Mother's Day!!!

Going to the Chapel...

...last night began wedding season for us! My sorority sister tied the knot last night at Crown Plaza Hotel. I love Durbin, she was cracking up the entire ceremony!!! Weddings are just fun in general because you get to see all your old friends! I'm really happy for her because I know she's been looking for a long time and finally found her Prince Charming.

Here is a picture of me and the gorgeous bride!

Then here is my husband thinking he's an alien...he's weird sometimes but I still love him!

Then finally I got to meet another blogger!!! This blogging thing creates a very, very small world! Here I am with Cecilia during the reception. I wasn't wearing any shoes plus I really am that short! Cecilia, it was great to meet you in person!

I'll be posting a couple more pictures later this week but I'm in a hurry to get to work and my computer won't rotate them!!! Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there!!!

PEEAANNUUUUUUUTT, peanut butter...

...and jelly, jelly. You all know the song so sing along! Last Thursday, I went to a Salad Supper at the church we've been attending. When I went to sign up, all the salads were taken and I was left with making peanut butter sandwiches. You could say I was more than disappointed with my assignment but I tried to make the best of it. Here's what I came up with.

I used the crusts from the sandwiches to make croutons for DH. I really like to cook, especially for other people, so that's why I was bummed with PB sandwiches so I just had to get in touch with my creative side. When I got there, I swear there was every kind of salad you could ever imagine...tuna salad, chicken salad, Jello salad, fruit salad, pasta salad, regular salad and the salads never stopped! It was a nice meal because I had a little of each, they were all light and I wasn't super stuffed at the end. There was a lady who did a cookie decorating demo and she owned over 8,000 cookie cutters?! Holy Moly! I own about 10!!!

When the lady at my table found out that I'd made the PB sandwiches, she said, "OH! Are yours the ones that look like a quilt?" So what do you think? Would you grab one of these yummy delicious PB sandwiches???

More yard pics!!!

...here are more pics of the yard as promised. Sorry I haven't been creative with my title. I'm going into my busy time of work and its just draining me.

First though, as I write this, my 100lb black lab is literally laying in my lap...our dogs aren't spoiled at all! ;)

This is purple flower literally bloomed in like two days...Emma's checkin' it out to make sure its all good.

Here is a pic of Emma checkin' out Matt messing with the water spicket.

This is the top of our Christmas tree that we're planting. Matt says this means it's growing!

These pink flowers are my favorite!!!

I also like these and they are still blooming!!!

Garbage Disposal...

...I just have to laugh because this week has been UGH but you just have to laugh it off. So Monday night, I set out a package of Voila! (it's like a meal you just throw in the skillet) to make for dinner when I got home. Well, when I went to make it, it was still frozen (not to mention who knows how long it had been in the freezer) so I put in the sink and ran hot water over it and put it down the garbage disposal and made frozen pizza (surprise surprise) instead. OOOOHHH!!! Side note: The pizza cutter has reappeared!!! So Matt goes to class (his last class, he's officially done with 1/4 classes he needs to get his associates!!!) then comes home around 9:30. Matt goes to the kitchen and about 10 minutes later, I go to see what he's doing. The garbage disposal literally barfed on him! He turned on the switch and all the Voila flew up on the wall, the counter, the canisters on the counter, the coffee maker...EVERYWHERE!!! We did our best to fix it last night but didn't get far so Matt is working on it tonight. Here is a picture of him:

Literally, two seconds after I took this, he was like don't take my picture and I responded with, "I need it for my blog!"

Alright, I think I FINALLY did it right...

...with the coupons that is! So K-Mart is doubling coupons up to $2 this week. First off, let me tell you my feelings regarding coupons. Sometimes, I feel as though I buy stuff that I wouldn't normally because I can get a really good deal on the item so this could be dangerous. Secondly, sometimes I feel, I guess the best word would be awkward using coupons because I try to double and triple check so that it will be correct when I get to the front of the line. Then if its not and I ask, I feel like the checker immediately is defensive and like, "Great! I got the b**** in my line..." when all I want to do is know what's right.

So here are my two experiences with coupons this weekend that did not turn out so well...Saturday, I went to Wal-Green's to use a coupon for Flipz (yummy delicious chocolate covered pretzels!!!). Well, I had accidentally cut off the top of it but I saved the barcode-the most important part. So I go to use the coupon and the lady is like I can't use it w/o the expiration date on it. There was a line behind me and I wasn't going to argue so I said never mind, I didn't want them (again, something I don't normally purchase or need on a daily basis). So I thought this and looked into it and the barcode has the expiration date tied into it SO this lady was wrong...she could've used the coupon if she'd scanned it!?! GRRR!!! Delicious pretzels left at the store....good for my craving but bad for my hips.

Next, and this one is totally my fault, I went to K-Mart on Sunday to try it out. Well, I had a coupon for Slim Jims (for Matt's lunch) and I saw a sign for 10 for $10 in front of them...SWEET!!! I had a 75 cents off coupon so double that equals FREE!!! So I go to check out and it was NOT free. So I asked, "Aren't those 10 for $10?" The checker thinks statement above, cops an attitude and tells me the correct price. I respond, "Okay, I'll just go check." So I pay and go back and check. Sure enough, it was something like Andy's Chips that were 10 for $10 but someone just stuck the box of Slim Jims there for giggles. I finally found the Slim Jim's two shelves over on the bottom shelf at $3.99/each. Grrr!!! Not my fault someone just set the box there in front of the wrong sign, yes, my fault that I didn't read it correctly. But GRRR...drop the attitude checker, seriously!!!

So I go back to K-Mart today knowing I can't fail. So here's the rundown:

V8 Juice $3.29
Huggie's $9.99

V8 Coupon $2 off-doubled
Huggies $2 off-doubled

Final:
V8 FREE
Huggie's $5.99

I was pretty excited since I FINALLY did it right!!! Oh and no, I don't have children nor do my dogs use diapers but I know of two baby showers I'll be going to in the next month or so; therefore, I'm stocking up for presents!!! I like to get something off their registry and some diapers because from what I hear those babies go through them a lot!!! So YAH!!! for finally doing coupons right!

Green Thumb...

...so this weekend, we (AKA Matt) worked in the yard! Our garden is really starting to take shape! We added tomatoes, jalapenos, egg plant, radishes and oregano in our garden. Here are just a few pictures.

Here is a picture of the front of the house with the flowers all planted. I will post more pictures close up but I didn't want to overwhelme anyone!

Here is a toad that was in our garden which meant that I did not enter the garden. Matt liked it there so he would eat the insects.

First site of broccoli!!!

Here is Emma sitting on the front porch watching a skateboarder whiz by. The skateboarder is the blur in the street.

Run, Lyssa, Run!!!

...this morning, Matt, and my two friends Stevie and Amber and I went downtown to run a 5K for Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments. I've ran in a couple of 5ks before like two years ago when I was REALLY in shape and boy...am I NOT in shape now!!! Matt took off and we didn't see him until the finish line but Amber and Stevie stayed with me although I know they could've done waaay better. Matt's sister and mom did the two-mile Fun Run/Walk. I finished in 37.43 and my goal was to finish in under 40 minutes so I was excited about that. I'm going to try to get back into the swing of running so I can do more of these and do better!!! The race was in downtown St. Louise and it was nice and flat with only a couple of slight hills. Here is a picture of downtown and a picture of Stevie, Amber and I in front of my house after the race.

I'm going to go take a nice long break...

Can I get your autograph???

...so I come home yesterday with a package on my front steps. I open it up and inside is an autographed copy of Twilight!!! FYI-random trivia, Stephenie Meyer is in the movie, when they go to the diner she's sitting at the counter on her laptop. So my mom, the librarian, went to a conference. Twilight had won an award but Stephenie Meyer couldn't make it so she signed a bunch of book inserts and then they put them inside the book. My momma thought of me and got me a copy!!! Thanks Mom!!! Here's a picture of the inside cover.

What a week...

...I'm exhausted, seriously just tired and stressed! Work has been crazy...When my dad asks what my dream job is, I always tell him, something where I don't have responsibility and don't have to supervise anyone. He responds with, Lyss, that's everyone's dream job. Then everyone with my sorority daughter...I know if I'm exhausted just picture her...then here's the real kicker.

DISCLAIMER: I know nothing at all about anything mechanical. So Wednesday afternoon, I open the deep freeze and I notice the light's not on. So I unscrew the lightbulb and shake it...nope, no noise, must be good. Matt doesn't get home until about 10pm that night and I ask him to look at it. He "says" he looked and it was fine and working. I get up Thursday morning, check on it again and its still cold and Matt said it was fine so okay. I go to Home Depot to get a new bulb, the clerk and the new bulb confirmed that the old one is NOT broken. GRRRReat...I get home about 11:30am, deep freeze thawed, water everywhere...awesome!!! So I call his sister and meet her over lunch to give her the deer meat we'd been freezing then I come up and start with the mess. We ended up having to throw about half of the stuff away and I was afraid we might be celebrating our six months and so-many days anniversary with our wedding cake but it was saved along with all the good meat. You just have to be careful when you open the teeny, tiny freezer upstairs.

Turns out the deep freeze is fine...the outlet was bad! So Matt and I get the deep freeze up and working and start cleaning it out. Me, being the super intelligent person that I am, decide to put the light bulb back in only to SHOCK myself...yes, shock. I think with everything going on this week PLUS it really, REALLY scared me, I just broke out in tears and ran upstairs. Does my loving husband come check on me? Nah...so 15 minutes later when he comes upstairs THEN goes to the bathroom THEN comes to check on me, I tried to act like I was passed out...didn't work so well because I can't keep a straight face. This just goes to show that even when I don't know what I'm talking about, he should still listen to me!!! So now that I got to sit down for like 10 minutes, I am about to go get ready and head to Jeff City for the memorial tonight then head back and I'm TOTALLY sleeping in tomorrow! Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!
