Tastefully Simple AND Delicious...

...last Sunday, Matt and I did some major cleaning in the kitchen. While I was cleaning, I found this box of Tastefully Simple Almond Pound Cake Mix that I'd ordered awhile back. Matt was going to spend the afternoon working on the bathroom and my only task left for the day was to seal the tile in the bathroom. So while I waited for him to do his work, I decided I'd throw this together. Seriously? SO EASY! I put the mix in a bowl added water and butter, mixed together then threw in a bread pan. One thing I have learned from making bread though is that when it says greased, its a good idea to flour the pan to so that the bread slides right out when it cools.
When it came out, Matt and I enjoyed this afternoon snack outside with the pups! This past Sunday was such a good day. I had a nice bike ride with Aimee early in the morning, did a little cleaning, made this, rode my bike to the store to be "green" (and Matt had blocked me in the driveway)...it was just a great day and made me feel very blessed for my great friends, hub, house, pups, health...
Anyways, back to Tastefully Simply (sorry I got sidetracked), I also love their Spinach and Herb Dip-yummy! It makes a great dip but I also love to put it on baked potatoes. Their Key Lime Cheesecake mix is awesome too. I love their products but they are a bit pricey for me so it's a real treat when we have it. What kind of Tastefully Simple products do you love?

Casey Up to Bat!!!

...this past Saturday, my good friend Beth and her fiance, Casey, came into town for his softball tournament. Due to the crazy weather we had on Friday night, his games got delayed 4 hours. After a quick bite to eat, we did what any friends would do that haven't seen each other...we watched the marathon of "America's Next Top Model"! Beth had gotten off work at midnight and woke up at 6am to get on the road so needless to say, she needed a little siesta.

Casey's game was supposed to start at 4pm but didn't end up starting until 4:45. He had the best cheering section....me, Beth and Emma! When I arrived at the ballpark, Beth met me and we started walking towards the game. Of course, Emma felt the need to stop and potty. At the time, I was on the phone, holding Emma and carrying my lawnchair, water/bowl for Emma and a drink for myself. Emma decided to go #2 so I set the chair down to get the bag off the leash to clean up and wouldn't you know it, my chair falls smack into the middle of the poop!?! Grrr...no worries, quick fix and we were good to go.

Right at the start of the game, I lightly touched my sunglasses and those things cracked!?! Then about halfway through the game, this bird comes flying STRAIGHT AT BETH'S HEAD!?! It was insane! It was a nice, fun, relaxing way to spend some good quality time with Beth. After the game, she and I headed to The Cheesecake Factory where after 45 minutes of waiting, we found out there was ZERO wait outside (which it was really cool and not too humid). Grrr! We sat outside, was served fast and were in HEAVEN as we split a piece of the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Chocolate Cake Cheesecake. OMG!!! This just confirmed my love for peanut butter even more.

Here's Casey and Beth before his game:
Casey at the bat! Beth kept talking about that book and no one had any idea what she was talking about.
Thanks for coming to visit! Maybe next time you come, the bathroom will FINALLY be finished!

Sittin' Around on Sunday...

...so here I am just sitting around on Sunday enjoying a day in my pajamas and just chillin' with my hub and pups. So here are some of my random thoughts for Sunday...

*I started the workout this and my body is sore! It feels GREAT!!! I'm hoping the scale reflects it tomorrow.
*Can someone answer this question about unions? I've been seeing lots of union workers protesting outside places that have already been built and in business for awhile...why?
*I bought these 100 calories milk chocolate pretzels and they are DELICIOUS!!!
*We went to dinner with friends last night and were planning on going bowling at Brunswick in St. Peters, we got there at 9pm and there was a TWO HOUR WAIT!!! We passed and ended up going to this new couple's house, that we'd just met, who happen to live right in our neighborhood. They had built their own bar and she finished it was paperbags and it looked really cool!
*Matt has finally decided (7 months later) that we need a plumber for the bathroom (UGH!) so we're waiting to call our friend's neighbor so HOPEFULLY this will be done SOON!!! Have I mentioned that I can't wait to take a bath?
*"Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" was on tv last night...love that MOVIE!
*Don't forget to buy Girl Scout cookies!!! They are yummy and delicious and make great gifts especially for anyone you know that is serving our country overseas!

Enjoy the last part of your weekend!

Men and Women and the Bathroom...

...I strongly believe that men and women should not share a bathroom. Not because he uses my razor when his is too dull or that he barely leaves me a squirt of shampoo but because of this:

This is how my husband changes the toilet paper roll:

I should be thankful though because there has been times that I've come home in a rush and sat right down only to see an empty roll on the holder and then I open the cabinet and see this:

Yep, no TP left.
Have I mentioned that I can't wait for our hall bathroom to be finished???

Venting About DH...

...dear husband, dear husband, dear husband-what am I going to do with you!?! You're driving me CRAZY! Aside from the fact that I've barely gotten to speak to him in the past week because of our crazy schedules, he's still managing to find that last nerve of mine and hop on it for a long ride.

I think you would all agree with me (at least act like you do) that I've been a pretty understanding wife with this whole hunting thing. I've gone and supported him even stayed in stands by myself so he could go hunt on his own. We've driven to and from the farm at least 3 times in two weekends which equals a lot of gas and also no TLC to our home which it is in major need of (think demo-ed bathroom and no bathtub since June, how I long to sit down to shave my legs).

First off, last night he had a friend come over to help him at the house. I knew about this for a week and I thought he was coming over to help with the hall bathroom. About 30 minutes before he got here, I find out that no, they're working on some project to put Matt's tools away in the basement. So for the next 3 hours, the dogs were scared to death as we sat upstairs listening to them pound away on their project. To make it even better, I decided to go to bed a little after 9 (that's my normal bedtime) and their project (framing the wall or something) was directly below the bedroom so lots of pounding and hammering as I'm trying to sleep. I might add that before his friend got here, I was addressing Christmas cards (I know I'm a freak for doing it so early) and Matt was sealing them then throwing them onto the foot stool ususally falling off onto the floor.

Tonight, we're supposed to go pick up a tv for people in Cape (don't even get me started on this story) and its about a 30 minute drive there and 30 minute drive back. Matt tells me he's going to go through this town after work so I ask him if he'll pick it up. He says, yeah if you'll meet me. Well, Matt that defeats the purpose. You'll already be out there, so why am I driving and wasting gas when only one person needs to do it.

I keep telling him he's being selfish lately but not like, "this is all mine and I'm not sharing" selfish, more like only thinking about himself and not about other people selfish, does that make sense? The tv story falls into this category as does the basement project for two reasons, one I'm trying to sleep upstairs and two this project only benefits YOU and we really NEED to get this hall bathroom finished for BOTH of us plus guests that stay over. The other night, he drove out to the farm and I told him to call me when he got there. He called me at 7:30 and said he was almost there. I said, okay, well call me when you get there. Three hours later at 10:30, I finally get ahold of him because I had to call him. Seriously, Matt, you know I'm a worry wart, you know I'm at home thinking you were in a ditch, come on man-THINK!

Anyways, so I just had to get that all out and since it is Thanksgiving and I really do love him, I'm going to leave you with five reasons why I am thankful for Matt:

1. He is handy around the house and like DIY projects (even if they take a long time).
2. He plays dolls with Haley but sshh! I promised not to tell.
3. He thinks I'm pretty and sexy even when I don't.
4. Even though he hates it, he still lets the dogs sleep in bed with us (we need a bigger bed).
5. He makes the best breakfast ever and sometimes he even serves it to me in bed!
