Upcoming Races, ugh...

...I was all gung-ho (is that how you spell that word/phrase?) about losing weight and getting back into running the first of the year. Well, I did good for about two weeks then last week I sucked it up. I tried to start fresh this past Monday and while I've worked out every day, my eating has totally sucked. Let's review, shall we?

Dieting-I am so HUGE right now and it's no one's fault but my own. I know I would be 100% happier if I lost weight. I know I'd enjoy running/exercising more if I lost weight. I know I'd be able to help others better if I'd lost weight. I know I'd be healthier and I want to lose weight before we TTC any more. While I know all this, I am just.not.motivated. I just hate dieting, the same thing every day, worrying about every little thing you put in your mouth, being upset because I'm over my calorie limit. It's just NOT fun!

Exercising-I made this great half marathon training plan for Jen and I. It was a walk-run program, the same one I did for Hospital Hill last year, we just had to repeat a few weeks since we had more than 8 weeks to train. Day 1 and I sucked at it but I kept going. So far I've sucked almost every day. Yes, I really didn't work out from October-December but it's really disheartening when you go from doing a marathon to being barely able to run a mile.

The truth is I really just want to give up but I know I can't. I know I'm not happy, I'm out of shape and I've got races coming up. I'm going to push through and I'm just hoping that it's winter and the cold weather that has me down. Besides, I can't stop working out, even if its barely nothing, because I've got a lot of races coming up between now and June!!! Here's my race calendar:

February 12-Truffle Shuffle 4 Mile Run/Walk (Matt's running this with me & chocolate finishing medals!!!)
March 19-Master the Met Stairclimb-42 flights of stairs
April 30-SCC 10k (I feel like I have to redeem myself from last year but at this point...)
May 1-Delta Gamma 5k
May 7-Indy 500 Half Marathon
June 4-Hospital Hill (still haven't registered so I could always do the 5k or 10k)

Anyways, there's my upcoming races and my Debby Downer attitude. I'm hoping it gets turned around...FAST!!! And by fast, I mean way faster than I run!

You are not the only one that has these feelings, but in my eyes you are way more motivated than I am. I think it is the winter, there is something about it that makes me want to eat junk and sit on my butt. Let's hope it gets warm soon! :)

Like Alicia said, you are not alone in those feelings! Sometimes it's helpful to look where you've been - think about all the races you've run! You know you can do it! Hang in there and let's pray for sunshine!

You have WAY more motivation than me! Don't be to hard on yourself. I know, that there is MORE behind this post than weight loss and exercise(baby). Well I think I know...I could be completely wrong, just seemed that way
You are already doing so GREAT even thinking about these races.
Keep your head up...God loves you, we love you, your hubby loves, your family, your dog.etc etc etc

On the "dieting" front, I would totally, 100% recommend Weight Watchers. You can eat whatever you want (within reason, of course)! I mean, today I had Chick-Fil-A AND cookies and stayed within my PointsPlus range! I am such a rabid fan of this program, it's not even funny!

And on the running front, girl, I feel you! I have had two REALLY GOOD runs in a row but about two weeks worth of horrible runs where running even 1/2 a mile was torture. I'm all over the place with running that right now I'm on cloud nine that it's actually looking possible to run my half.

You've got this!! We are doing the biggest loser here at work. I am in second. I stopped WW, I just hate tracking and I started South Beach again. I have lost 8.5 pounds in about 3 weeks. Wishing you luck! GAME FACE! :)

You had an amazing year last year and everyone hits that wall. I'm dealing with it right now too. But you can do this! You can so do this. I think it's so smart of you to have races planned out because that gets you motivated. I should do that.

I wrote this long comment then blogger froze and deleted it.ERRRR

You have lots of encouragement going on in this blog.

My advice. Start small! Start slow!

Track everything you eat, healthy or not.
Weight loss comes from the kitchen, toning comes from the gym.

Seriously, find the extra funds and get a body bugg/go wear fit. It's a HUGE tool.

I eat lots of food every day and have been loosing 2 lbs a week. FB me and I'll walk you through what I eat again!
