Giveaways-Thoughts and Opinions...

...there's a great giveaway over here for the Nicholas Sparks book "The Last Song." So jump over and sign up to win. Now that I've informed you of a giveaway, I want to know your thoughts and opinions on them.

*Have you done a giveaway? If so, for what and why?

*Have you ever won a giveaway? If so, how many people were entered and what did you win?

I really wanted to do a giveaway for my 313th (my birthday) post but I missed it, oh well but I'm thinking about doing one at some point. For what is a good reason? A certain # of posts? A milestone in my life? How do you pick a winner? What's the deal with the random generator thing? What is a good giveaway? Please leave me any thoughts or feedback you have on giveaways.

Okay, here's my whine fest-boohoo! I never win anything and I have to work ALL weekend, SO not looking forward to it. Okay, glad I got that off my chest.

Suprisingly, I have never hosted one, but have won several blog giveaways. The Mrs. has become suspicious of all the prizes arising and is still waiting for a bill.

I think you can choose a reason that makes sense to you. Blogging birthday, some accomplishment, etc.

I've hosted a giveaway, and I have to admit, I was a slacker getting the prize out to the poor girl, and finally sent it to her about 2 months later. That being said, I have won 3 giveaways and I've actually received the prize from 1. And that was a 3rd party company who actually sent it out. Both of the other prizes that I won from bloggers (one was an Easter basket LAST year and one was thank you cards) I never received.

I don't think there's an easy way to go about tallying the entries unless you just get out a piece of paper and number them, then use the random # generator. Or you can just write all the names on pieces of paper and draw them out of a hat.

Just watch out for giveaway stalkers, who will undoubtedly find your blog by searching for a giveaway and join just for that reason. I had a girl follow my blog, and when I viewed her blog it was ONLY about giveaways she was trying to win. She actually won with the random generator, but I chose someone else who actually HAD a blog and didn't just join to win!

I've hosted and won. I think they are fun! There are plenty of companies out there that are willing to do giveaways since it give them advertising.

I always write the names on paper and have my husband draw. That way I have photo proof of the winner!!

I've hosted giveaways and won one when I first started blogging. Found your blog thru my good friends. It's cute!

Who doesn't like to win stuff? I've entered a few but haven't won. Eventually though, is what I keep telling myself ;)

I've entered tons and tons of giveaways and just in the past month, I've won two! It's so exciting to click on a blog and see your name there!

I want to host a giveaway when my blogoversary comes along but I just don't know what I'd want to give away!

No company has ever asked me to host a giveaway but I do know a company asked a good friend of mine to host one on her blog and it got so out of control. She gained a lot of followers, but only because of the giveaway and she hated it. So I'd probably just do a giveaway on my own, unless the product is so good I want to give it away and deal with all the crap.

Okay at first I started to re-think following Hilary because she won 3 giveaways but than I finished reading and decided she wasn't so lucky. Geech - people are CRAZY!!!!

I never win either. I am convenced that people say they use that random number thing but really pick their favorite blogger - like a popularity contest - and apparently I'm not popular. If my theory is true and you host - I expect to win!!! haha!!! Or maybe Muahahhah

I don't usually enter them because Justin and I have an agreement that we won't give out our address to anyone that we don't know in real life.
