...okay so the half is less than 20 days away so I need to focus on what I'm going to wear!?! I know this sounds ridiculous BUT let's be honest here people, I'm a big girl...I have big boobs, big thighs, big butt so I have to find just the right outfit! I also suffer from "Chub Rub" this is where your legs rub together and leave a painful rash SO I typically run in capris but being that it's going to be on June 5 (hot hot hot) and 13.1 miles I figured I should find some shorts. Here are the two outfit options.
Wal-Mart: I like the top of this one because it is razor back which means cooler on my back but it is kind of skin tight when I wear it. When I got home though I tried on the bottoms and they are actually capris-grrr!
Target: Dry-fit top and bottom. Top is nice and doesn't cling to my body like the other shirt and it's very light. I'm just worried that I'll end up shoving the sleeves up my sports bra so it isn't hanging on my shoulders. Bottoms: now these are actually shorts that go to my knees, perfect for chub rub. Hubs denies that I have a panty line when I wear them or that I look super fat in them but I'm not 100% confident in them. OH! The shirt does cover my pooch(how I got lucky enough to have a pooch that looks like I've had a child even though I don't, I have no idea!)I also bought the off-brand wicking socks at Target and Wal-Mart (not to be confused with Air-Wick air freshener). The one thing I hate about these socks is one always gets lost in the laundry, without a doubt, it disappears to the laundry gnome. I wore a pair on my run on Saturday, stood at the washer, took them off and put them directly into the wash. Moved them all to the dryer then took everything out and can only find one!?! I picked up every piece of clothing and went through it and it's gone. This is so annoying!!! Grrr...
I'm pretty sure that I'm going to go with the Target outfit but please feel free to leave me your comments. And no, I won't try them on and take pictures for you-I mean I do WANT you to come back and keep reading!!!

I have larger thighs too and I can't run in shorts or if I do they need to be longer. When I played lacrosse, I would go as far as putting vaseline or lotion on my legs so they wouldn't hurt so bad.
My votes the pink - it's classy sassy!
I would go with the shorts, but the first top. I love racer backs--they're so much more comfortable, because you're not fidgeting with sleeves!
I hate shorts just on principle and almost always wear capris even when it's hot. I also like looser fitting tops. Therefore, I prefer the second outfit!
i think the first outfit is nice.. n will look very good on you!!
also, I suffer from a bad case of chub rub - good thing here, is I didn't know u call it that.. learnt something new today! so yaay!!
I would prefer to have a fashion show before deciding which outfit i like better!! Both are cute so I would go with whichever one you are most comfortable in.
I like the 2nd outfit as well, but wear whichever you feel most comfortable in. My thighs have also had a relationship with one another since the day I was born. I recently tried out the Vaseline Body Oil Gel. I think Johnson and Johnson has one too. It's like baby oil in gel form so it doesn't run everywhere. I put that on in the mornings when I'm wearing a skirt or dress and it will last all day. Not sure how it'll last through a 1/2 marathon, but it might be worth a try.
I agree that comfort is going to be key when you're running! I'd maybe take a jog or long walk in both of them to make sure there isn't any funny ride-uppage.
Bwahaha, that last line!!!!
Go girl- I'm sure you'll look great in both!
Just wear something bright so your family/friends can spot you!!
And um, I never wear undies when I run, so I don't have to worry about panty lines...just a thought... :)
I only wear capris, so that would be my pick but you hate them, so that's a bad idea. And I hate the idea of shirts clinging to me so I'd pick the pink.
You have to pick what's most comfortable for you! You'll look great in either!
HAHA This post made me laugh! What girl doesn't suffer at some point of chub rub? I have fairly slender legs ( the only thing slender on me!) and when its hot and I'm in a dress doing lots of walking oy! Anyhow. I only run in Old Navy yoga pants/capris. I have never attempted shorts but I would be worried that they would slowly start moving up my leg? if that makes sense..So my vote is the capris with maybe the looser top? if you're anything like me, I hate when stuff clings to my body while working out for fear that all my jiggly fat will be seen by others.
This isn't a walmart slam, but I have found stuff from Walmart doesn't fit as well as Target...I would go with the Target for sure! Plus it's pink....and I'm a big fan of pink!
I'm definitely a member of the "Chub Rub" club and I have to run in longer shorts. I cannot run in shorts ever, no matter how hot it is. I would definitely go for the Target one, plus it's cuter! ;)
(And yes, I'm also a lucky enough to have a pregnant belly as well! And since I look like I'm 12...it can get reallllly uncomfortable sometimes!)
I like outfit # 2
I like the Target one best. Because I think that color will look better on you, not because of anything technical - haha. You will be running 13.1 miles so lets worry about color ;) But have you gone to Marshalls or Ross or TJs and looked at their Wicking stuff? Are those Items wicking? I think that is key, not that I run or anything, since I slacked on our promise and you should have dumped me long ago.
I like the Target one. You just want to make sure those who are coming to watch know exactly what you're wearing so they can spot you. It's harder than you think. As far as VPL (visible panty line :) I wear a thong.
