Busy Sunday...

...so Matt had to work today and I got busy trying to get out of that funk of mine! I woke up and took Shadow on a 2.5 mile walk-thank goodness for the cool weather! Then I did a little laundry and started a roast in the crockpot...mmm, meat and potatoes for dinner! Then to be even, I took Emma on a car ride with me to Wag's where we scored a couple of good deals with coupons!

This afternoon, I made some banana bread because Matt couldn't eat them fast enough. I swear this bunch went straight from green to brown! Then I finished the book I was reading, "The Choice" by Nicholas Sparks.

I never read "The Notebook" but my mom brought me a lot more of his books to read. Anyways, it's a super easy read and totally gives you the warm fuzzies inside how the couple falls in love (don't worry, I'm not ruining anything, I mean hello! It's Nicholas Sparks here!). The basis of the book is his wife ends up in a coma and he has to decide whether or not to let her live or to take out the feeding tube...similiar to the Terri Schiavo case. I'm really torn about the decision he made and the one part of the book that I'm still in suspense is that the never really discuss his choice (sorry to be vague but I'm trying not to give it away). I know that if I was in a coma, and I've told Matt many a time, to NOT let me live that way because its no life for me and its not fair to him. Any thoughts from anyone? If you're read the book, let me know so we can discuss w/o ruining it for anyone else.

OH! Side note...I'm definately a 'read the last page first' kinda girl...I feel like I'm out of the loop!!! Hope everyone had a good weekend!

I would not want to live for a prolonged state in a coma, but I would hope that my husband wouldn't pull the plug after just a week ;) Let me prove that I'm REALLY brain dead and not my usual 'ditzy brain-dead' self (bad joke - I know...)

As for books, I cannot look ahead, and for books like the one you read, where you are getting to a specific paragraph or sentence where the best part is revealed, I actually get a piece of paper out and cover up the page and move the paper as I read so that I don't cheat and 'accidentally' look ahead. I peaked on Susanne's Diary for Nicholas and I was bawling before I even really understood what happened. My husband kept asking me why I was crying, and I had to honestly say I didn't know because I really didn't. If you haven't read that book - I highly recommend.
