End of an Era???

...it seems like every time I turn around another one of my bloggie friends is closing down their blog for a variety of reasons. Although I understand their reasonings (and totally agree on some!), it makes me sad. When I first moved to STL, I mainly hung out with old college friends. After I got to know my co-workers, I started making friends and hanging out with them.

A co-worker introduced me to Mattie and well the rest is history! Like any relationship, we were inseparable for the first part of our relationship but then came a point where we wanted to start hanging out with our friends. By this time, I had started a blog but had never even thought twice about meeting other bloggers. Well in May 2009, I met my first blog friends: Randall, Heidi, Angie and some other girl (who fell off the Earth, it was weird). After that, we hung out a few times and now I have a whole plethora of bloggie and Twitter friends!

So it makes me sad that my all my bloggie friends are signing off but hopefully we'll all still stay in touch. I know that I've not gotten nearly as many comments as I used to and I'm not sure if it's because blogging isn't the "in" thing anymore or people just don't like my content. But I have to be honest and say I know I haven't been the best commenter these days either because I've been crazy busy. But to all my loyal readers out there, I promise I won't sign off or close this 'ole thing down. Even if I get NO comments, I love looking back over the past 3 years and remembering and referencing. At some point, I may slack off and not blog as much but I'll be around. There, now you can all sleep easier at night! :)

I think some of it has to do with Blogger - I moved over to WordPress and so far I like it. It makes things exciting again! ha!

I think some of it is summertime - people are out and about. But I've always been impressed with the number of comments your blog generates. Hang in there - and keep writing!

LOL Liz. (I know Liz, she's awesome) I am sad about quitting the blog, like really a lot. I thought about starting an anonymous one but if my hubs found out he'd be upset and I don't wanna upset him. All the love I got about my blog ending made me happy. I've been bad about commenting too. I liked my little part of the internet where I could talk about what I liked!

I personally am not hanging up the coat on the blog, I've just been really really really busy right now but hopefully after the first weekend of August I'll be back on more. Also, remember its your blog - if people don't like reading you, then whatever - it is what it is and you write it and that's all that counts :)

I admit that comments are nice, but I've always looked at blogging as a journal for myself. Like you, it's nice to go back and read about my life pre-dogs or remember details about a vacation. And while I try to comment on other people's blogs, it can be hard to keep up sometimes.

You better not leave this blog, lady! :) I've seen somewhat of a dip in comments, but I think it might just be summertime. Who knows?

I have heard the average blog is good for about 24 months. So many things change for folks after 2 years, I can understand why.

So, this is my 4th year of blogging--I think I am really boring.

Hey lady, I am still here and still reading both your blogs. Just super busy right now with summer and work and I am volunteering. I havent found the need or desire to blog lately. Kinda bitter if you catch my drift. Although I do have a big post to get done one of these days (and no I am not preggers) but I will email you and give you heads up. Love ya girl and I miss you. You look amazing btw, keep up the great work!!

Hopefully you're still coming?!

oy. I miss my blog but at the same time, I love real life so.much.more.

I think once we settle down a little more, get married, pregnant, etc etc. I may revisit the idea.

I'll keep reading yours though! :)
