My Baby is Going to Be 1!?! just 18 days, my sweet little girl is going to be one! How in the world did the time go so fast? How did this infertile couple have the most precious baby girl? How in one year has my entire life changed?

I am currently in full-on first birthday party planning. The theme is pink lemonade; I hope the party turns out half as well as I see it in my mind. While it's exciting that she's turning one, it's also kind of bittersweet. Why? Well, for one, our breastfeeding journey will soon be over (I have a whole other post for that once we hit the mark). I know that AR will be our only child so like pregnancy, this will be the only time that I'll breastfeed and have that special bond with my sweet, little baby. I'm sure our bond will continue but I'll miss the early mornings and bedtime feedings with her. Along the same lines, she's not a baby any more! She's a little girl, a more first holidays or seasons, she's been through them all. Also, I can no longer (and haven't for awhile) been able to say, she's just a baby, she doesn't know better. I'm going to have to start disciplining her which we already have when it comes to dropping her food on the floor. And I have to figure out when she starts using utensils and how many words she should know and teaching her everything!!!

I'm sure in 18 days, I'll forget all the bittersweet reasons and just be excited for her birthday celebrations. Before we know it, I'll be doing a graduation post! #lovemyAR

I almost cried reading this. I remember the feeling of stopping nursing altogether. :( I can anticipate the sadness of mine turning one and the "baby" term being replaced by "toddler" or "young lady." I feel for you, and I'll be thinking of you. Hang in there Momma because there's so much more joy to be had!

It is so hard to realize she's not a "baby" anymore (I still say it though & my boys are 2 1/2 lol). There is so much joy ahead for all of you. Just wait till she can say "love you mommy" or take your hand to pull you somewhere with a purpose & determination as if the whole world rested up on it. This baby girl is such a blessing (even though there are times you can forget that during the toddler years haha!). I hope you enjoy that party for all its worth & then when you feel a little sad, you can go back & flip through pictures & remember those wonderful baby moments.
