Totally Tye Dye!!!

...it all started with AR's birthday party. That's when the tye-dye bug bit. It was the first time that I'd done it and it turned out awesome! So I decided to help out camp with tye dye this summer. Then we decided to tye dye our staff shirts for next summer. Then we had a festival at work and I was in charge of the tye-dye booth. By the time the day was over, I'd helped tye dye over 110 shirts! In the past 2 months, I've easily tye dyed, or helped, probably close to 225 shirts.
The day of the festival started off fun and fairly clean...

Then I sat there, hunched over for 3.5 hours without so much as a sip of water or a bathroom break. The booth was MUCH more popular than we expected.

By the time I got home, my legs showed that I'd been a tye dying machine for most of my Saturday.

But I was pretty thrilled with the end results!

I can do the three basic designs. My goal for next summer is to figure out how to do shapes. This is the classic stripes.

Swirl-everyone's favorite!

This is the multiple bullseye...easiest to roll (well, stripes is pretty easy too) but hardest/most time consuming to dye. Also, warning when working with red, or any other bright color, it takes over EVERYTHING! Shirt, gloves, water, legs...

Another swirl; I know some people want NO white in their shirt but I'm a fan of a little white.

Although I am retired from mass tye dying until 2014, I still might dabble a bit in it at home over the winter months. My sis and I talked about doing onesies just red and white for the Cardinals and then finding someone to embroider either the logo or the baby's name. My boss wants me to do a black and gold shirt for Mizzou. Jenni said I should go into business which I considered for about 2 seconds. Actually, if you need something tye dyed, I'd do it for you because it's fun and easy.

These are awesome! I remember attempting to tie dye back in Girl Scouts when I was like 8, but I don't think they turned out very well. :) These are awesome! I love the Cardinals onesies idea! Go Redbirds!

I am a tye-dye loser. I stink at it. Great job!

straight bleach on a cotton ball. It will get your tie dye leftovers right off your legs, arms, or hands.
